Fred and George were continuously employed by Hastings Ltd for over 15 years. In March 2003 Fred had an argument with the managing director, which led to his suspension from work on full pay for three weeks followed by formal disciplinary procedures being taken against him. At the hearing, serious allegations were made against him, which were not substantiated by evidence. He was then dismissed for misconduct, with a payment in lieu of notice. George went to see the managing director to protest at Fred’s treatment, which led to another argument, and George was suspended from work on full pay. Despite George’s continuing protests, no further action has been taken in his case and he remains under suspension.
Both employees claim that the way they have been treated by their employer has caused injury to their health, namely clinically diagnosed depression.

So was George wrongfully suspended? And are the claims made by Fred and George right ?? What are the remedies for them?

Compensation Level For A Broken Leg?

Hi all just pondering a thought.

A friend of mine was hit by a car in January of this year. His leg was broken quite severely and required a few operations, pins and a metal cage to repair it (forgive my lack of medical knowledge) His total recovery time was approx 3 – 6 months. He is now fully mobile but is restricted from certain activities due to the weakness in his leg.

What I want to know is how much personal injury compensation he is likely to get??? He is banding around figures of £250,000 but I am skeptical for a number of reasons.

1) The Judicial Board Studies Guidelines quotes £22,650 for a serious broken leg.
2) He has never been employed since leaving school 6 years ago so cannot claim loss of earnings.
3) He is a well known bull shitter.
4) He was messing around on a car park with a load of idiot boy racers at the time of the accident.
5) A friend who had a similar serious break AT WORK on his arm received only around £30,000.

So I guess I want everyones opinion, do you think he could get £250,000??? He has never been employed, is fully healed except for some possible future weakness in the leg. His Barrister is trying to claim it was his intention to join the Armed Forces and claim loss of potential earnings that way……even though this is complete crap because has done nothing with his life except sit on his backside at home smoking and claiming benefits in the 6 years since leaving school. He never enlisted in the forces or attended a single interview. His interest stopped at getting some brochures from the Army Careers office a few years back.

As we all joke his greatest achievment in life has been to get run over……..What do you all think??

I was injured at work in August 2008, i finally had a operation in April 2009 to rectify the damage that was done through this accident.I have a on-going situation where i have a Solicitors as to no win no fee bases but that seems to be draging on. Could you tell me how long these settlements take

UK car insurance -?

Are you able to claim on your own car insurance if your fully comp for personal injury if the accident was your fault???

trying to settle an arguement here!

Hello everyone… I would like to know if I could still claim compo…

What happened was in 2002 when I was 12 and in school, they hadn’t gritted the floor on a cold day wicth left ice everywhere… I was playing football with some frineds when a group of kids playing with the ice started to smash it on the floor. One of the bits of ice had a stone in it and that bounced out and hit me in my right eye making me lose all sight in that eye… I was then walked to the front desk where they sat me down to ring my mum while blood was pouring from my eye. Once I had got the hospital I was then sat in a waiting room for about 5 hours before being seen and told nothng was wrong and the swelling would go down in 2-3 day… After the weekend i was again rushed to hospital and had a oparation a day later when I was told I have a detacted retna and a blood clot that keeps reforming.

7 years later and now I have extramly bad migrains on a daily base and bad pains in both eyes. I can not leave the house in the day because my eyes are extramly senstaive to light.

I have no tried looking for work for the last 6 mounths… But feel parinoid that when I get to a interview because of the way my face looks due to not being able to open the eye that they jugde me and say no… And it has reacntly come to a point I will not leave the house with out covering my face.

I may not have a claim but would like someone to let me know if I could claim or not

thanks john

A relative has an unused Litigation Loan of just over £1,000, which was set up for her in a bank account. The account was opened by a Personal Injury firm on her behalf, to cover legal expenses, following a tripping accident claim she wanted to make. However, as this personal injury case was dropped, the loan was never actually used, and instead has just been left in this bank account to gather interest. This loan was taken out in £2003, and despite her contacting the bank, they stil haven’t cancelled it. So what should she do? Is this money hers to draw off anyway? And even if the bank does take back this unusused loan, will she still have this bank account open?

Sunday League Football Injury?

Has anybody who has been injured during a Sunday league football match ever made a claim through the club cover insurance, Cobra? If so what was the injury substained and how much did the insurance pay out?

I tried to overtake a vehicle on a narrow country road. I made slight contact with the other vehicle. The other driver turned out to have no insurance. The accident was entirely my fault. What rights does the uninsured driver have. Can he claim against me for vehicle repairs and personal injury? Do I have the upperhand as being the only insured party? I was advised to accept no liability and take out a Civil BIll against him for my loss and injury….. I want to know what his rights are 1st and foremost…..Thanks Again
Devastation: If he has no rights then I could intentionally crash in to him and leave him hospitalised and he would not be able to do anything because he is uninsured? I doubt this is the way of the law, surely he does have some rights
