I am not a driver, so perhaps someone who is could help out here; points to the best answerer.
My friend was involved in an RTA a few weeks back: somebody pulled out in front of him, without indicating, in order to turn down a sliproad (which has a no-entry sign), causing him to decelerate from the road’s cruising speed (50mph) to zero within a short distance (5-10 metres).
Both cars were written off, but no one sustained serious injury; the Police are prosecuting neither party.
My friend has a comprehensive insurance policy, but was informed by his insurers today that they will not pay out for his car’s replacement (valued at around £2-3k) as they claim the tyres were bald. (My friend has ABS, which to my limited understanding would cause this to happen, especially given the stopping conditions).
My friend is now most distraught that this will ultimately render his policy ENTIRELY null and void- thus making him liable for third-party injury claims (if any). Is this likely?
Any help will be most appreciated.
Cheers so far, but I should clarify that my friend is not concerned about his OWN injury claim: his prime concern is whether his insurance company would cover any THIRD-PARTY injury claims (if any are made). Thanks

I have had to have the vet out today for my 20 year old thoroughbred gelding who took 3 massive bites of feed this morning; and raised his head in the air causing himself to get feed stuck in his throat. He had several injections and in the end had to be tubed. However i was wondering whether choke caused by trapping of feed is classed as an illness or an injury. If it is classed as an injury then i will be able to claim for the cost of the veterinary treatment on my insurance but if it is classed as an injury i would not be able to claim. This is because my horses insurance policy only covers him for vets fees incurred by an injury. Would the insurance company class choke as an injury or an illness and would i be able to make a claim?

does each insurance policy only cover you for a restricted amount of days per trip if it’s annual cover? does this mean u are only covered for 42 days of the trip if you go for 50 for example??
wats excess??? does it mean if u make a claim for baggage loss or personal injury you have to pay the first £50 for example and whats the point in that when they’re paying u anyways??
i think insure and go look ok?!??

Alright….
–I’m in my car driving and I have a friend with me. I’m waiting at a red light and out of nowhere comes a car that rear ends me. I go outside to talk to the driver, but he runs away ON FOOT. Anyways, I call the cops etc. they write a police report of the accident and my friend complains of "back pain" so I take him to the ER (just like he stated) and he turns out to be fine just that his muscles were pulled.
Anyways, my insurance company (state farm) is covering all of the medical expenses, they give the passenger ,500 to use on medical related issues. My friend goes to the Chiropractor to get more "treatment done" and the bill will exceed ,500 that my insurance company has stated to provide him (they told him before he went to the Chiropractor btw).
Anyways, now he’s complaining that he needs more money, and that he’s going to fight with my insurance company. On the other hand, the guy who is responsible for the entire accident has a crappy insurance policy, not to mention he claims that his car was "stolen", when he never filed a police report prior to the accident stating that his car was stolen(my main suspicion is that he was drunk at the time of the accident, that’s why he ran on foot). Anyways, my insurance company told me friend that he has to either pay through his health-care, or he has to fight with the other guys insurance company if he wants his medical bills paid. My main concern is, am I liable to pay his medical bills even though I wasn’t at fault for the accident? Or would he have to sue either my insurance company or the other guy’s insurance company for his medical bills to be paid off?
REPLY: I live in Texas, so does strict liability still count towards me?
So you guys are all agreeing that it’s NOT my liability to pay for his medical bills (if my insurance company doesn’t) ? Because the accident itself wasn’t my fault, and my insurance company provided everything they could. I AM FULLY INSURED BTW.

Today I hit a car in front of me at like 5km/h, it was a very slow impact and it was snowing like crazy so the roads were slippery and my car slid slowly as i tried to break. There was absolutely no damage, not even a scratch to either of the cars.
It was a 50yr old black lady. She was fine, but claims that she hit her head and may get a small bump. We pulled to a gas station that was nearby and exchanged info on the drivers license + phone numbers. She did NOT ask for insurance policy papers, so we did not exchange those. She said that she will not report this as there was no damage. No police report, we just drove off.
Should I report this to the police/insurance company? I’m worried that she might report it and claim some bullshit damage/injury money and since i dont plan on reporting it I would be fucked.
Also, what if 6 months later, she get some injury unrelated to a car accident, and then decides to claim that it was me who hit her since she has my info and sue me or some crap? Whats the worst thing she can do?
Another thing, I was driving my parents car, I’m under the insurance, but what if this this thing that i described above comes up, can they get in trouble?

I got car accident, fortuntely I didnt get hurts, only my car got big damages, the fault driver’s insurance refused to pay me full repairs. only very little portion of repair estimates. my insurance policy is liability only, I do not have money to pay the full repairs. So i hv to sue faultdriver at small claim court. Now it will be final step – Jury Trial hearing. The defendent got attorney who was hired by his insurance, I do not hv attorney since my case is too small, only property damage without personal injury. no attorney would like to take it. I won the Arbitration hearing, but the defendent attorney filed appeal to the court against the arbitration decision. Now I dont know how to prepare Jury Trial hearing and paper including 1, opening statement of case; 2, Jury instruction; 3, Motions in Limine; 4, Additional questions i’d like court to ask during voir dire; 5, Settlement offers; 6, Settlement Autority. Who can advice me how to write those papers and what to speak?
I did call bar association to talk with their referal attorneys, nobody wanna take my case or even further talk in details with me.

Yesterday I received a letter from my auto insurance company about an accident I had more than 15 months ago. What happen during the accident was that I was making a left turn as the light has turned red for a split second, but the other person from the opposite direction sped up trying to run through the light and our cars crashed heavily. My car was pushed back for about 15ft while his car stayed at the same place. However, after the collision, we got out of the car and nobody was injured from either sides. He has another passenger with him while I was driving alone. The police and paramedic came and asked if anybody was injured, but there was no injuries so the paramedic left right away.
In the letter they said that the other party is demanding a huge amount of money for medical bills and injuries claims. Here is what they are demanding: "Anthony XXXX demands ,500 based on medical bills of 38.30 and injuries include: Chest wall contusion, cervical/thoracic/lumbar sprain/strain, muscle spasm and Cervicalgia. The demand for Roxanna XXXX is 0,000 based on bills of ,830.80 and injuries include: Lordosis, cervical/thoracic/lumbar sprain/strain, right hip and thigh sprain/strain, chest wall/rib contusion."
As you can see, the list of the injuries are very suspicious since each and every injury cannot be seen physically. So what am I supposed to do with this claim? My insurance policy only has a limit of K. Will I be sued for the remaining amount? I’m a poor college student with no income or properties so what is going to happen if I get sued? I’ve been having a headache since yesterday worrying about this matter and couldn’t concentrate on anything else or even stay focus during class. Please give me some advice on this matter as this was the first accident I ever had and don’t have much experience on how it will be settled. Thanks for your time.
In the police report, no injuries were listed.

This is just what I received in the letter from my insurance company. The case is still not settled. The demands listed above are what they are asking my insurance to pay. They still have yet to directly sue me. Right now I’m still keeping contact with my insurance adjuster and he said they will do an investigation of the injuries claim.

My wife is a second driver on my insurance policy. She had an accident which was her fault and the insurance paid out. The way I see it is now both of us are penalised as on future insurance I have to say I had a claim and she has to say she had an accident. So we both have to pay more in future. Is there a way round this where both parties are not pernalised.

I was in a accident in Aug. I was at fault, and she was injured. Her "claim" exceeds my insurance policy.
well, I’m a college student, under 21, and the accident accorded on private property. so….i was thinking maybe to work within my limits
